I was inspired to start dancing nearly 20 years ago, by my favourite band, an offshoot of Joe Jackson's "Jumpin' Jive." That was the style influencing me, dancing Lindyhop. A brief dalliance with R'n'R before getting into Blues, R'n'B and smooth Swing. The music led me into dancing West Coast Swing, which resulted in my first chance to DJ, requiring knowledge of a wider selection of musical styles. I've competed regularly in recent years in MJ, and I'm astounded to have acquired 3 DWAS wins, plus second and third places at national competitions. I love music which challenges, inspires, or is just great fun!
